Triumphant Entry...

Yes, I realize Palm Sunday was last week but I am often a day late and a dollar short.

As I have been rereading the Gospels in preparation for Resurrection Sunday I was struck by the entry of Jesus into Jerusalem a few days before HIS death.  I was reading the verses that describe how the people not only placed palm branches down but they also placed their robes on the donkey and the path.  In biblical times a person’s robe was very distinctive.  The weaver tried to put a different spin on each robe made.  Because of that you could easily identify who was approaching you by noticing the robe.  Very similar to us when we can see a coat or jacket hanging in a hallway and know who is likely to be in the room we are approaching.

The concept was that the robe was the person’s identifying article.  The fact they were taking their robes and laying them down to make a pathway for the KING caused me to think of them laying down their identity to magnify HIS.

They wanted HIM to take possession of the throne and were making a pathway for HIM to do that.  So I began to think if I had laid down my identity in order for HIM to take full possession of the throne of my life.  I realize the people present that day were filled with joyful excitement because of what they had seen HIM do and say.  But they are not the only ones who have been the beneficiaries of HIS might and power.  Each of us has been showered with grace upon grace.  Each of us has received enough of HIS Goodness to put us in a parade mindset!

Don’t duplicate this crowd’s behavior following this awesome parade.  Soon after this jubilation they had forgot HIS goodness toward them. They lapsed into everyday living with little hope for the future.   In the days following this wonderful resurrection weekend don’t let everyday issues steal the joy you feel in your heart.  Don’t let yourself return to the old habit of usurping HIS position on the throne of your heart.   Keep your identity thrown at HIS feet and keep HIM lifted above you.  Keeping things in that order will allow us to sing and dance in the days ahead.

Don’t know about you but I am feeling resurrection power coursing through my soul.  Just as the FATHER raised HIM from the dead, God is raising me from dead issues in my life.

I think it is time to soar!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope to see you in a TEA Room soon,

Elizabeth
