For several days as I have driven to work I have caught just the chorus of a song. The lady’s voice would declare, “I’m shatterproof, shatterproof, you’re not going to break me; make your move, make your move you’re not going to shake me”.
Though I only catch a little of the song each day the point is clear. The artist has come to a place of forgetting what is in her past and latching on to her reality in Jesus. Perhaps you, like me, has had seasons in life where you felt like a very fragile piece of crystal. Every nerve worn to the bare thread. At times just a glass of milk spilling would call forth a flood of tears because your soul was so delicate and had been torn by life’s circumstances or broken relationships.
As we find our way in knowing who we are in HIM, we see something wonderful unfold. At some point, seemingly with no conscious effort of our own, we find we are sturdier than before. Things that once threw us into depression or hopelessness, anger, or fear, may bump against us but they will no longer shatter us.
As we learn to trust HIS love for us we take our identity from HIM. HE was definitely shatterproof as HE walked the earth. So much to deal with, yet such peace and joy as no one had seen before. No matter what move the enemy made HE was standing sure on what HE knew the Father to be to HIM and HE to the Father.
Don’t let the world tell you who or what you are. Let the One who loves you more than HIS life establish you. You will be rock solid for sure. You will be shatterproof.
Hope to see you in a Tea Room soon,
Elizabeth
