We all long to be a vessel of worth in the Kingdom. We want to be able to reproduce in our lives what we read in scripture. Oh how our hearts yearn to walk in all that HE has provided for us. How we long for the full impact of HIS word to birth the visions and dreams HE has placed in us.
As I was reflecting of the phrase pregnant with Presence my mind was taken to couples struggling to have a baby. All of us know someone who has gone through that battle. The thing that always amazes me about such people is how they refuse to give up. Nothing asked of them seems to be too hard. If there is hope of success they will jump at the opportunity.
As I thought about their persistence my heart was chastised because at times I am not that way about Kingdom pregnancy. Jesus told us in scripture that HE was the vine and we are the branches. The branch doesn’t produce the fruit, it just bears the fruit for all to see and taste. The vine is the source of the fruit. HE let us know that without HIM we can do nothing. It takes intimate relationship between the vine and the branch to produce grapes.
We will become pregnant with KINGDOM visions and dreams when we settle into HIS presence. We need to settle in not drop by for a quick scripture reading and leave a list of things for HIM to work on while we are away. Even though sometimes it seems our time with HIM is unfulfilling, don’t give up. Continue coming day after day and sit in HIS presence. As we are faithful to just “show up” HE will honor us with HIS undivided attention. In those times HE will reveal HIS most intimate thoughts with us. The kind of things Corinthians speaks of when it says “ear has not heard nor eye seen nor has entered into the heart of man what HE has stored for us”.
Our daily time with HIM is not to be measured by how much scripture we read or how long we prayed during that time. No, it is to be measured by how our hearts are full of the Presence of God when we leave that time. How our ears remain open to HIM the rest of the day. How our souls choose to obey at HIS every command. How HIS joy permeates every fiber of our being and how we walk confidently being assured of HIS love for us.
Just come, just stay, just let HIM love on you. If you do, as surely as you can spot a pregnant woman in the mall, people will be able to tell that you have been in the presence of the KING.
