I have been praying for the funds to do some painting in my home. The previous owners must have had monkeys with paint brushes. The paint on the woodworks and cabinets is not the proper type and with each cleaning a little more disappears. Since I was talking to Jesus about the wood trim I figured it would be a good time to bring up the walls as well.
As HE and I were talking I was reminded about how important it is to paint a small square swatch and then view it at different times of the day to see if you like the color in bright light as well as dim light. Colors can look so different simply by adding or deleting light. While I am still waiting for an answer as to HIS willingness to provide paint money, HE did share something with me.
He spoke to me about how the light of HIS Glory changes my perception of things. I realize the closer you draw to HIM the more of HIS Glory covers your life. It lights up all areas. I find that HIS Glory will invade all aspects, our triumphs, our failures, our problems, our needs, and our celebrations.
If you are like me, you notice that no matter how difficult a circumstance might be; when it is brought near HIM and the light of HIS Glory shines on it, its appearance changes. Just as paint swatches appear lighter and softer when the sun is shining through a window our burdens appear lighter and softer when they are viewed in the Light of HIS Glory.
The way to have the light of HIS Glory shining on our lives is to draw near to HIM. The realm around HIS Throne room is filled with the light of HIS presence. If we will draw near HIM in confidence we will feel the warmth of that light upon us. As we bring our concerns to HIM in that “holy place” of worship we find the dense darkness begin to lift.
I remember how stunned I felt when I was told the lump was malignant. The news felt heavy and dark, almost a smothering feeling. But as I ran into HIS arms and felt the warmth of HIS embrace suddenly things seemed lighter. The diagnosis did not seem so imposing. It no longer has the weight to settle across all of my life. Sitting there in HIS Glory absorbing HIS love all things became possible. Healing was just a prayer away. Hope was unsinkable. All because HE is unstoppable!!!!
If sunlight can change my mind about a wall color; how much more The Light can change my mind concerning life.
Hope to see you in the Tea Room soon,
Elizabeth
