As I have reflected on scriptures such as God rebuking Moses concerning the “mixed multitude” with him other impressions have come to my mind.
We remember that is was the grumbling of the mixed multitude that incited unrest in the Israelites. That is why God told them to separate from the mixture. I believe that the unrest we feel at times can stem from the same type of influence. It seems it is the areas of life that we have not allowed the Holy Spirit to purge and cleanse that contaminate our lifestyle, our witness, or worship.
May our desire increase to have nothing but Jesus in us. To be so surrendered to HIM that every response of our lives is a mirror of HIM. When we allow mixture in our soul, we look at things improperly. We do not see through the clear vision of faith. May we have single vision and wholeness of heart as we serve Jesus. If we do not take seriously the need to eliminate all that is not of the Holy Spirit in our lives we will not experience the power released in our lives to turn our world upside down as the early disciples did.
It is time to understand that it cannot be Jesus and _________ (fill in the blank). It is now Jesus or nothing.
