When I ran across this quote I thought how it applies in the spiritual. As young Christians often we can be swayed by each position presented by someone. We go with what “feels” right. But the Word tells us that mature believers not easily swayed. They have learned to discern truth from deception by exercising the senses of the Spirit.
There are many things being printed or spoken these days that at first glance seem reasonable. But we are to look beyond the surface of what we hear and see. We are to take the Word of God in earnest prayer and ask HIM to show us truth.
