Radical Believer

The trouble with some of us is that we have been inoculated with small doses of Christianity which keep us from catching the real thing. -- Leslie Dixon Weatherhead

The above quote hit me hard when I came across it.  I began to think of the church in America over the past 40 years or so.  As we have been influenced by the culture we live in and have lowered our standard of holy living in the name of political correctness we have become immune to the truth of God’s Word and Spirit.

In fact, what was once called an average believer is often considered radical or extreme in today’s religious circles.  I don’t know about you but I am through with average according to today’s standards.  I want to be considered radical if believing in the pure Word of God is radical.  If believing God stills heals by HIS great power is radical.  If believing that God delivers people from addictions and lifestyles that betray HIS holiness is radical.

I want to shake my surroundings with HIS presence in my life.  I want a full dose of God’s version of Christianity.  I don’t want to be immune to what HE is doing in this hour in this world.

Hope to see you in a tea room soon,

Elizabeth
