In The Tabernacle...

The other day as I came into the house from an appointment I sat down and thought how grateful I was to have a place to rest.  As I looked around the modest room I was filled with gratitude that DADDY had provided a safe, comfortable place for me.

That thought turned my heart to the scripture that “we are the temple of the Holy Spirit”.  Now of course you and I know that the Holy Spirit never leaves us, HE never comes and goes; but God was wanting to show me a picture of something so HE used a parable of sorts.  HE asked me what preparations was I making daily for the Holy Spirit to feel as refreshed and comfortable in my heart as I was feeling in that chair.  Then I thought of the meaning of the word tabernacle.  In simple form the meaning is the place on earth where the presence of God dwells.  Before Christ’s coming that was the tent of meeting for Moses or the temple Solomon built, but now it is us.

As I reflected on the nearness of HIS presence in my life and the warmth felt every moment by HIS incredible love tears bubbled up and I lost the ability to speak.  Sometimes tears is the only language possible between DADDY and HIS child.  When I thought of HIM desiring to dwell within me; that is how badly HE wanted to be as near to me as HE could get I was taken afresh by intense love.

There is a verse in Song of Solomon that has captured my passion for years.  In modern language what the king spoke to the young woman was, “One glance from your eyes takes my breath away”.  Since Song of Solomon is a beautiful picture of Christ and the Bride I often wrap myself in that scripture before I sleep.  So humbled by the thought that the KING of all Glory, the creator of heaven and earth, the LORD, GOD Almighty waits for me to turn my eyes toward HIM and that when I do and HE sees the love I have  for HIM it causes HIM to catch HIS breath.

What a love, what a Savior, what a KING, what a GOD!!!!!!!
