I hear many people condemn themselves for not having enough faith. In the past I have had times when I felt things were not working out because I just didn’t have enough faith. Perhaps you have been there at times.
Once when I was really beating up myself in this area Jesus shed a bright light on a thought I had not entertained. In HIS sweet way HE caused me to reason that I have faith in what Ray tells me he will do because I know Ray loves me. I know that he has my best interest at heart and is always in my corner. While reflecting on this Jesus said, “you don’t fully trust someone you feel doesn’t love you. When you know with everything in you that a person loves you then thoughts that they will harm you or let you down are removed.”
Then I realized that my faith level was not what was lacking. It was my love level. It was my confidence that HE loved me that fell short at times. He loves me no matter how much I fall and have to get up. He loves me when I don’t walk in the wisdom that is available to me. HE loves me when I nurse an offense in my life instead of letting it go. It was only as I became more and more convinced of HIS love for me that my ability to believe in HIS promises and power grew to unshakable levels. I began to live in the freedom that I did not have to be a person of great faith. I only needed to be a person who realized I was greatly loved.
In the shadow of HIS love everything is possible. In the warmth of HIS loving touch nothing is too much to ask and expect. I can say this because just as HIS love will never harm me, my love will never use or manipulate HIM. My love will respond to HIS love and only the best will be brought to my life. I leave the decision as to what is best up to HIM. I can do this because HIS love is set on my good.
Hope to see you in a Tea Room soon,
