Recently my mind and body have been under attack. I don’t know if it is because this week is the one year anniversary of my cancer diagnosis or not but it has been heavy.
As I have fought fervently for over a month to win this battle of the mind I have been reminded of many things by the Holy Spirit.
First, to encourage myself in the Lord. King David did that when he thought he had lost everything. He began to remind himself of God’s words and deeds to him.
Second, the promise Jesus made. He has told us that God will keep our mind in peace as long as it is staid on HIM. This is not a legal ritual where you have to shut yourself off from everyone and think only on Jesus. But it is a matter of having the unconscious thought always centered on God and HIS Word.
We know that all battles are of the mind. That’s where everything starts. First with a thought, then a stronghold, then an action. I have been reminded over the past weeks how challenging it is to win this battle.
Your battle is likely different than mine, but the approach to victory is still the same. Turn your thoughts toward Jesus. Trust in what HE has told you both verbally and in HIS Word. Lean upon the strength of the Holy Spirit. While it still may not be a walk in the park, it will certainly lead to victory.
Where are your thoughts today?????
Hope to see you in a Tea Room soon,
Elizabeth
